La Cocina de Ana
La Cocina de Ana is a lunch spot popular with the locals and the ex-pats. It’s located one block West and about 1 or 2 blocks South of the Dairy Queen.
They open at Noon and serve until 4 pm I believe, or until the food runs out, Monday through Saturday.
The format of the restaurant is cafeteria style. There are many different items available and you pay at the end of the line by how much your food weighs. Beverages and tortillas are available by asking the cashier when you’re paying.
The menu rotates with set selections for each day of the week. Wednesday is Chinese day … if you’re a fan of Americanized/Canadianized/Mexicanized Chinese food then you’ll like it. Otherwise stick to the standard Mexican dishes
Food here is almost always excellent. I go as close to Noon as I can and don’t have trouble finding an open table from the dozen or so they have. If you’d rather, they have to-go containers available.
If you’re budget conscious, or a fan of home cooking, or want to try something a little different – give La Cocina de Ana a shot! You won’t be disappointed!
