Visited the new location of Angelina’s on three occasions this year.  While I had stopped in to speak with Angelina at her old location last year, I had never eaten there.

It has been receiving rave reviews so I knew I’d have to try it out but I felt like the online menu was less than entirely exciting.  So on the first visit I was pleased to find that their menu has more items on it than the online menu reveals. This visit was part of a patio crawl so we were looking for a drink and an appy to share – and we were not disappointed.  We sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent.  He recommended their signature drink – the Basil Martini.  My girlfriend ordered one and sadly I went for the Mango Martini.  It was good but just didn’t stand up against the Basil Martini which was just excellent.  Now I know what you are thinking but just trust me and try it!  We also shared the Tapas Espanolas.  These were excellent!  They were so good that I also shared them with other friends on my following two visits.

My second visit wasn’t perfect but it still was a great time enjoyed by friends.  We, of course, started with a round of Basil Martini’s which everyone enjoyed – well, except maybe me.  Mine had a beetle in it – which my friends quickly named Ringo (get it? a beetle names Ringo??  Totally funny!)  Anyways, they quickly replaced my drink and I was back enjoying their signature drink.  Then we shared the Tapas Espanolas, and again, my friends all thoroughly enjoyed them.  For my entrée I ordered the Shrimp and Goat Cheese Pizza.  Unfortunately, it did not arrive.  Everyone else had received their dinners and had eaten so I told the waiter not to bring it.  About 15 or 20 minutes later, as everyone was paying their bill, the pizza arrived.  I took it anyways, thinking I could put it in the freezer and eat it for a late night snack.  Well, that never happened.  I hardly ate this trip and was never home so the day that I was leaving the poor pizza was thrown in the garbage.

I did visit one other time and enjoyed a lovely evening with great new dinner guests.  We again shared the Tapas and then I had the Fettucini Alfredo which was good.  We also enjoyed a very nice bottle of wine and an excellent evening.

Angelina’s is located behind the Freeman Hotel and about a block away from Macaws.

Visited Angelina’s last week and as usual the food and service were great and the hospitality of Angelina is so heart warming. This continues to be one of my top five favorites it Mazatlan.

As an update we stopped by Angelinas in the last fall with Cindy trying some chicken dish and I had the Greek pizza. The pizza was very goo but I like the Mexican better. So this trip we stopped by last night Cindy had the steak fajitas and I had Marlin al pastor. We really love the food here every dish just has an unique flavor you do not find at other restaurants and throw in a little waiter humor makes for a fine evening.

We also ate at Angelina’s this year and it was very good. We started out with the Tapas Espanolas which my wife and I devoured them, they were so good that we wished we had ordered a couple more plates of them. Next she had the Manzanera salad and I had the Mexican pizza. This was early in our trip I think this was my wifes first night and I stall had the mindset attempting to not eat too much at any meal. I had no intention of eating the whole pizza or helping my wife with her salad but she thought it was so good she kept wanting me to try bites of it. My good intentions of saving half the pizza for a late nite snack did not pan out too well either as we had no take home boxes when we left. We really wanted to come back again but due to the traffic congestion when we were down we did not. Already planning on next trip for Angelina’s.

Angelina’s is one of our favorite places in Mazatlan. We really enjoyed the new location even though it does not have an ocean view! I had the shrimp tacos and they were delicious. My husband had one of the fish entrees and said it was one of the best he had ever had. The owner is awesome. Hope to go back next year two or three times to see Angelina and to try something different. I have always ordered the shrimp tacos!
